My name is Rachel Stenbuck and I am a native of Cary, North Carolina.  I hold a Bachelor of Music degree in Flute Performance, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Voice, and a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy from Meredith College.  I have been teaching music in the Raleigh area for 16 years, and have performed in various church and public venues.  During my graduate studies I performed as the mezzo soloist in the Meredith College Chorale performance of Mozart’s Requiem.  I am a member of the North Carolina Opera Company chorus and have sung various roles in local operas.  Recently, I joined the new North Carolina Opera Company in their production of Tosca as a chorus member and in the role of Shepherd Boy.  Abroad, I have sung the role of 2nd Lady in The Magic Flute in Varna, Bulgaria, and La Principessa in Suor Angelica,  in Sansepolco, Italy.  Other roles include 3rd Lady in The Magic Flute, and Dick Deadeye in HMS Pinafore.

It’s never too late, nor too early to learn music!  I offer music lessons starting as early as age 5 up through adults.  Private, weekly lessons are available for flute and voice (both classical and musical theater), as well as general music theory and appreciation.  Lessons are tailored to the needs and goals of the student.  Two recitals are offered each year, one in the fall and one in the spring semesters.  Students are strongly encouraged to participate in the recitals, as well as various music festivals and competitions.
